Amelia Frances Howard-Gibbon Illustrator's Awards

Founded in 1971, the Amelia Frances Howard-Gibbon Illustrator's Medal is awarded to an outstanding illustrator of a children's book published in Canada during the previous year. The medal honors schoolteacher and artist Amelia Frances Howard-Gibbon who taught Ontario schoolchildren in the 1860s and early 1870s. An illustrator must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada in order to be eligible.
